Hey everyone!
I haven’t done a “fun” topic in a while, so I decided to do one today in place of a fitness topic. I think every once in a while I need to stop overwhelming you with fitness information, stories, videos and give you all a break. I know many of you enjoy my fitness topics, I enjoy them as well, but I like to get people talking, and sometimes talking about something fun versus serious. Every once in a GREAT while I take a different path and give my audience a fun topic to discuss.
Today: I want to know what are your 5 favorite movies, I know many of you will have a hard time in choosing favorite movies (it is difficult for me too) but I am interested in learning more about my followers/supporters. I hope all of you enjoy the topic question.
Leave your answers in the comment section, share and reblog so others can participate in this activity question as well, get bloggers involved, I want to hear all of your answers.
My favorite 5 movies:
- The Lion King
- The Great Gasby (with Dicaprio)
- The Nightmare before Christmas (I love Tim Burton Movies)
- The Wolf of Wall street
- The Purge (All of them)
I probably could name a movie that could tie with “Wolf of wall street” like the movie “300” and “Clash of the Titans”, “The Hobbit”, “Lord of The Rings”, “The Imitation game” (All of them) .. so #3 can be a give or take depending on the mood I am in.

Hmmm tough for sure:
1. Spaceballs
2. Original Star Wars trilogy
3. Predator
4. Hot Shots (must watch both)
5. Labyrinth
LikeLiked by 2 people
Predator was good, lol. Never seen any of the other ones, lol.

WHAAAAAAAAT? Spaceballs and Hot Shots are goofy funny so I get that. Labyrinth is great to sit with kids seeing as how it was made with Jim freaking Henson. But no Star Wars?! Mind officially blown 😉

Haha does the new arWars count? I have seen that the latest one. Spaceballs I have heard of, and I like comedy lol sometimes. Labyrinth, I have seen at the store but the cover looked old and gloomy Lmao so I stayed away hahaha

Giant muppets and David Bowie in tight pants! OK that may not be a selling point but Labyrinth is a must see movie. If you listen to nothing else I say, that’s important. Although I have a feeling you’re going to be getting a lot of people that say that 🙂

Haha, Yes, I have had people already recommend some movies to me. I was told to watch “Best in Show”, I hear it is funny, so I will now look into that one and Labyrinth, even if the cover looks old and gloomy XD

Troy is a good movie, I love wolverine on X-men but wasn’t a huge fan of his solo movies.. it kind of was odd. Titanic is classic and seeing we both enjoy Mr Leonardo; very cool. Never watched Sex and City but i have heard of it. I might have seen Lier Lier, but it has been a LONG TIME!

Although Harry is somewhere on my list too. I have heard of all the movies except “Best in Show”.

Oh I’m totally a fan of all the Lord of the RIngs but was trying to narrow down my favorite.
Best in Show is HILARIOUS. . . but I also have a weird sense of humor. I imagine people either hating or loving it but no not a lot of in between.

Lord of the Rings, well we have something in common! #thumbsup (but why only the first 3)
The conjuring, that movie was incredible! definitely a must see for those who haven’t seen it.

I LOVE the movie Anastasia, the song is one song I never forget, beautiful.
I love playing Mortal Kombat games, umm who was your favorite character?
Hocus Pocus is a classic and halloween is on its way, good movie to watch for the season. Memoirs of Geisha, I have watched but don’t remember much of it, would need to watch it again to refresh my mind.

I was addicted to a song in Anastasia too! Favourite character – tough one, I liked Kitana! How about you? Memoirs is great – but defo a tear jerker!

3) The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy
4) The Jungle Book
5) Finding Nemo

Hahah Awhh Finding Nemo is cute. Do you like the new star wars movies too? Harry potter is another good one! Never heard of your #2, and the last time I seen the “Jungle book”, was when it was on VHS lol

Yeah I loved the new Star Wars movie but I still definitely prefer the original ones. Yeah I am seriously a huge Harry Potter fan so of course it has to be in my top five. The Hitchhikers Guide is great if you’re into sarcastic comedies and have a little knowledge of physics and science. I just watched the new Jungle Book movie recently and it was really amazing and it was a childhood favorite of mine. You should really watch the new one when you get some time it’s great! 🙂

My youngest brother loved the new Star Wars movie as well! he is a HUGE fan and knows all the characters by name. That is one topic he can stay on for hours without getting bored.
I don’t have a favorite Harry Potter movie, but I won’t lie I am a huge fan of Dobby, he was so cute! haha. I was sad when he died.
I know the new Jungle Book is now on Dvd/Bluray so I will look into it, i always liked the black panther 🙂

Yeah I’m the same. Like I can talk to people about Star Wars for hours and I’m kind of obsessed with it.
Yeah Dobby’s death was so sad. Actually I’m pretty sure I cried for most of the deaths in Harry Potter!
Yeah the panther is really cool! And I really love all the songs in it too. They’re so fun and catchy!

I liked Jaws as well, I love watching Sharks attack people, were you fan of the other Jaws movies or just the first one?
Never heard of Cocoon.

I like the first and the second was okay. The rest are ridiculous.
Cocoon is an oldie but a goodie. A real tear jerker. Don Ameche and Wilfred Brimley… a fountain of youth story…1985.

Haha the more ridiculous the better the killings! XD That is all the matters, the killings 😛 hahaha. I love when the song comes on to let us know someone might die, lol.
Oh so you tear jerking movies, didn’t take you for a sap, lol 🙂 I have learned something new about you Jim.

I’m defining favourites as having a big impact in my life, in no particular order.
1. Big Fish
2. Pee Wee Herman’s Big Adventure
3. Stranger Than Fiction
4. Moulin Rouge
5. Guardians of the Galaxy/Lady in the Water/Les Miserables (2012)/True Grit (2010)/Zombieland – tie

I liked Guardian’s the Galaxy, was an awesome movie. Did you have a favorite character?
I have heard of “Big Fish”, “True Grit” and “Les Miserables” , and Pee Wee Herman.

I don’t think I have a favourite character, it’s more just the story. With that said, I tend to like stories that involve redemption and self-sacrifice (see also Les Mis).
Big Fish is just quirky but I like the father/son reconciliation (I have issues).
Pee Wee Herman’s Big Adventure is simply classic cinema.
What about Stranger Than Fiction?

Never seen “Stranger than Fiction”
Ahh well that would explain Guardians of The Galaxy, it did have its self sacrifice.

Tim Burton’s movies are the BEST!! Have you seen Miss Peregrine’s yet?
My top 5 in no particular order (as you’ve said, can’t choose!!)
1. Poltergeist
2. Mary Poppins
3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
4. Let The Right One in
5. Forrest Gump

I know right! I have not seen Miss Peregrine’s. Is it another Tim Burton movie? I will have to look into it. What is the basis of the movie?
I have not yet seen the movie “Poltergeist” but I want to because it looked good and very creepy. lol.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the movie Forest Gump, another classic and Tom Hanks did a swell job to say the least. That movie is amazing. It was on netflix not too long ago.
I have watched Mary Poppins, but wasn’t a huge fan, it was cute though. I have seen one Indiana Jones movie, wasn’t a fan and I have played Indiana Jones lego video game and it was decent. lol
I have never heard of “Let the Right One In”

It sure it! I haven’t seen it yet either, but the book kinda sucked. An orphanage with children with peculiar gifts, such as levitating. Make sure you watch the original if you do, remakes are boooo! 😉 Damn rights, Tom Hanks is such an amazing actor! Hahaha, I watched both of those movies so often I broke my parents’ VCR :D. Let the Right one in is a Swedish horror. They did an American remake of it if you’re not into reading subtitles, but…as I said before, remakes are bad mkay xD

Haahahaah a Swedish porn?! what! haha. jk 😛
Hey I almost broke my grandma’s VCR watching all her Disney movies (She has ALL of them) I hope they become mine when the time comes.
Yeah, remakes are usually no good, but I think I will take my chances because I am lazy and don’t like subtitles xD.
The book sucked? I will know not to read it, you should watch the movie.

Girl, everyone knows streaming is the way to go with porn these days, no movies anymore 😂😂. LMAO, I know you didn’t mean it that way, but just thinking about you rubbing your hands in glee when thinking about your grandma passing away just so you can get your hands on her Disney videos is hilarious 😂😂. I hope she’s still chipper and lives at least 50 more years though 💜. Haha, I grew up with subtitles, so I’m used to them anyways. It’s how I taught myself English 😁. But yeah, fuck learning Swedish, aint nobody got time for that 😉. I will!!

3. (The Unnamed) Hero
4. Grave of the Fireflies
5. Time Bandits

LOL – crazy for not liking movies? What makes you say that? I was dumped by a guy, once, because I didn’t like movies / television shows as much as he did…that, to me, is crazy!
XD

Bahahhaha! okay he was crazy too! but I have never knew someone who didn’t like movies all that much, that is new to me. Nothing to be ashamed of though.
I think the guy who dumped you needed more hobbies then! lmfao

Trust me, I’m not ashamed of not liking movies as much as others do. Not sure where that assumption comes from, LOL
To answer your question, most movies are insulting to me as a Black person, in general – but, they also insult me as a woman, they insult me as a Black woman, and they insult my intelligence. It’s as simple as that…
😎

Hmm, interesting. I just didn’t want you to feel like there was anything wrong with not being a fan of movies.
Well considering we have 2 strikes against us in a world that is unjust (being black and being a female) I can understand some of the reasoning for that. How about the kid movies though? haha
LikeLiked by 1 person
I don’t feel like there’s anything wrong with not being a fan of movies – remember, you’re the one who said it was “crazy,” LOL! I simply laughed it off, and you keep bringing it up…so, I’d ask why you’re projecting emotions on me that I really don’t feel? I find it fascinating.
The only “strikes” against us as Black women are those that others try to thrust upon us. I don’t buy into others’ B.S. – I overcome it.
The last kid’s movie I saw was “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” and thought that it was awesome! I wish that the “Avatar” movie had been animated, though – or, at least, done with actors and actresses that were true to the cultural background portrayed in the cartoon.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Well, mostly because I didn’t want you to think I had anything against you not watching movies, because I don’t. Although it might be odd to me, because it is new and yet rather opposite of myself 😛 but I wanted to make sure you understood that it wasn’t me making light or fun of you, but just being curious since it was new to me. It isn’t everyday someone says they don’t like movies, but I don’t think any different of you in case it crossed your mind. I rather like that you are different and honest 😀
That is all we can do, overcome it and be better than what some people may think. I find if I complain about it, it only brings me more anger in the end, ya know. Social media always keeps me up to date on people’s feelings about everything! lol.
I like that movie and avatar wasn’t too bad, I found it kind of boring at times though.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ah, I see – you think that people who aren’t like you are odd. Not surprising, to me, since many people under the age of 35 seem to think that they can only get along with people who are exactly like them. I like meeting all types of people, personally, so that’s why what other people do doesn’t strike me as odd or weird at all. People are individuals, ya know? The only people that I think ill of are racists, rapists, narcissists and abusers – if and when I give any thought to people like that, at least.
Talking with people IRL tends to be the best way gauge their feelings without assumptions, IMHO!
😎

Yes, i agree. I like talking to people in real life too. It is more engaging, not that social media doesn’t allow me to engage because it does, but text only stimulates me so much; after a while the brain may want more. I don’t know. I think it is human nature to judge people, I used to tell people I don’t judge, but then I realized without even realizing it I was doing it, not because I was being mean or inconsiderate but because I didn’t understand or because it was new to me. I think people mistaken the word judgement with assumption. When I judge people, I am not always assuming anything. I can say someone’s shoes looks like crap but I won’t assume they got it from Walmart LOL. I don’t know.. sometimes people get them mixed up and that is when things get all messy.
can people judge without making assumptions? probably not very well. lol.
