Hey fellow bloggers and readers,
I have a short blog today, mostly because I need some ideas & I want some recipes again. Normally these post get many people on board, so hopefully this one goes well too.
I need some “lunch” ideas, more or less what do all of you eat for lunch? Do any of you not eat lunch at all? do you think of lunch as snacking or do you actually eat a meal? I was at the store a couple of days ago with some friends and we were doing some shopping together, and we both came to a realization that we don’t know how to shop for lunch food. Yes?! I know weird, right? well we know we can eat sandwiches, and we can eat soups, but we wanted something different, and while yes I do use Pinterest quite often, we failed to even look this time around. I told him I would ask all of you for lunch ideas and the next time we both go grocery shopping we would use your recipes, and ideas so we could avoid this problem from happening again.
One would think lunch is the easier meal to figure out, but for myself and my friend, we find it the more difficult meal to decide on. Help us out and share your lunch ideas!
Your fitness blogger,
Shay-lon xoxo

I get really hungry during lunch time. I try to eat a lot of protien meals most of the times or I find myself standing in front of the vending machine. What I eat for lunch most days are:
Packed Meals
-Turkey BLT with sweet potato fries
-Grilled Chicken and veggies
-Protien packed salad meat of your choice and eggs
-Grilled Chicken Sandwhich. On honey wheat bread(not small)
-Ground Turkey mixed with bell peppers served on top of rice
Lunch is whatever you make it big or small whatever speaks to your belly 🙂

Yes, I get really hungry during lunch time too! I find that I can never decide what to eat and I tend to make sandwiches, but sometimes you want to explore something new but you don’t know what. I like your ideas, thank you. I will put the majority of them to use 😀

Haha, your comment was all the exploring I need to do. I just told my friend your recipe ideas and he was like “why didn’t I think of those things” LOL

I love PB&J sammiches lately. I also dig a Subway BMT now and again. Other than that, it’s leftovers or I skip it altogether. Lunch, for me, is a “whatever I can throw together real quick” kind of thing. Good luck!

Jim, the old school Pb& J sandwiches, lol. Those are both simple and inexpensive. I haven’t eaten at subway in a long time, mostly due to the fact they have made me sick.
That is what lunch is to me too “leftovers” LOL or random ingredients, but sometimes I have neither.

Some of my go to lunch options are:
Greek yogurt with a banana and carob chips mixed in. Great for high protein and helps with those sweet tooth cravings!
I also love oatmeal because there are so many different ways to make it. Sometimes I do peanut butter and jelly. Other times I mix in protein powder and a banana. Or just strawberry jelly and chia seeds. Now that it is fall I mix in two tablespoons of pumpkin pure, a spalsh of almond milk, some cinamon, and nutmeg seasoning, with almonds to top it off!
Hope this helps!!

Rachael,
Splendid ideas, I love oatmeal, I never gave thought of eating oatmeal for lunch, but since the weather is getting cooler; it would be a great idea! plus oatmeal is very filling. I normally never mix anything in my oatmeal (maybe honey or almond milk) but I am going to give it a go and try some of the things you mentioned. Thank you for sharing your ideas, definitely helpful.

If I’m at home, lunch is usually almost an afterthought: whole wheat tortilla with peanut butter and banana is pretty much standard. If I’m at work then leftovers or I’m bad and buy something. Bad bad bad habit.

Hahaha not a bad habit, it happens and it is okay 😀
I have never had tortilla with peanut butter and banana, sounds different. I will add that to the things I haven’t tried before.
Yeah, lunch has been an afterthought too sometimes, by the time I think about it, it is almost dinner at that point. LOL

My lunch kind of depends on my mood but most of the time I make sandwiches with different kinds of fillings depending on what I have at home 🙂

What kind of fillings do you like on your sandwiches?

I’m fine with literally anything except carrots. I hate carrots.

Yeah, I am not a HUGE fan of carrots either. I especially do not like them cooked. I can tolerate them raw with ranch dip.

Yeah me too I really don’t like how they taste cooked

I have to eat a solid lunch. I am usually starving by 11:30. My go to lunch has been turkey or chicken salad on lettuce wraps with Tomato, sliced cucumber and either buffalo sauce or chipotle mustard spread by Dietz and Watzon. Both give the the lettuce wrap an extra kick.

I like both of those sauces, and I appreciate your sharing of meals, I am going to write those down as well, it is nice to get new ideas!

Very relatable post as I have this problem in the breakfast time since I don’t feel hungry however I know I must eat something. However for lunch food I make sure I have a big fulfilling meal so I don’t have to eat heavy at dinner time. Something packed with high protein and will give me energy through out the day. I suggest chickpea salad recipes, Falafel sandwich, Turkey and cheese sandwich, Rice with a side dish of eggplants and broccoli if I have the time to prepare something in the kitchen.
