FitFam,
I have decided to list 5-10 great cardio exercises that anyone can do (depending on your health conditions and fitness level) – but are fun and will get your heart rate up! Now there is much more to this list than what I name off, so don’t get upset if there is one you prefer and it didn’t make my list, doesn’t mean it sucks, leave it in the comments for others to look at. This particular list is a list of cardio exercises are not necessarily based on a “study” but more so based on what I have seen and liked myself – so it is biased but nothing I display is a “bad” exercise if done properly and with expert advice. Some of these exercises are displayed in your more popular fitness magazines and websites, so don’t be shocked if you see one that you have seen before. Hopefully this will broaden some people’s idea of cardio and get you pumped! Oh and some of these exercises don’t involve running!
- Jump rope
- Burpees
- Jump squats – good for strength and cardio
- Indoor Rowing machine
- Interval training
- Mountain climbers – I actually don’t like this exercise, but it is a good one
- Jumping lunges
- High to low planks
- step up jump
- Running in place high knees
Oh and doing circuits, those can be made into some really good cardio workouts too!
So, like I have mentioned before this is just a short list of good cardio workouts, there are plenty more that are useful and just as good. I could have listed about 50, but wanted to keep the list short and sweet. In a future post I will list 50 good cardio workouts including what you see in this list , and some that maybe you have yet to hear of. Let me know if there is one on the list that you love or hate!
Your Fitness Blogger,
Shay-lon xxx

I notice running isn’t on your list…hahahaha just kidding. But I am curious about how high to low planks are considered a cardio exercise. On a side note, if you did cycles of that whole list- wow.

Hahahah I was trying to be “creative” and leave the obvious ones off the list! lol.
Well if they are done for time or done using a circuit, it can be used as cardio. It gets the heart rate up when doing them at a fast rate of speed.

I never thought of doing enough to get the heart rate up. I’m usually just cursing so I figured that gets the heart going too.

Bahahahaahahaha! lol that does get the heart rate up, I found that out today for myself.. 😛 it decreased when I left the gym, weird. xD

I haven’t jumped rope since being a young kiddo, lol not sure I know how anymore. LOL but it is a great exercise!

I’ll admit I haven’t either😂. But if I must work out, I’ll choose jump rope.

I bet you’re wondering who is behind this curtain, huh? 😂!

Hahahahahaa! no, no. I don’t ever think about it. I honestly could careless 😛 I should be hiding my face behind a curtain..

Really? Lol! Despite the fact that I don’t have pics, I often wonder how people look who don’t have pics. Mostly the blogs that I really like. I say to myself, “who does that creative mind belong to?” But anyway, please don’t hide behind a curtain! Then we won’t get your delightful YouTube videos!😩😃😉

Nope, it hardly ever crosses my mind. I figure it doesn’t matter unless I am taking them on a date ;p lol although I can see why someone would wonder, people like having a visual of people, tends to work well in remembering them as well. I normally think to myself “hm, I like that cartoon character they used for their picture” lol.
I can consider doing YouTube videos with a paper bag over my head. xD

Yikes! You having a paper bag over your head sound interesting😊. I bet that’s what would get your video viral. I would love to read the comments on that! Lol! This conversation of ours is funny😄.

Actually! that would be fairly entertaining! lol. I would wonder the comments as well. I could do that for a topic, I would need to think of a topic that would allow me to do it and it make sense as to why 😉 this conversation has given me ideas! – love the humor in it.

Yes! You know people don’t even care if you have a logic excuse. People like to be mean because they have nothing better to do!

Yes, this is very true. I see some of the comments people leave for others and i am happy I have yet to see any negative ones on my videos, but doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

I know a topic! Does seeing someone really matter? Do people trust or find information as valuble if they can’ t see you. How much importance or reliance on visuals do we really have?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That would be a good one for you? lol. I wonder if that can be used for fitness/health as well. I am going to need to ponder on it.

I could use it definitely and you too! Are people going to trust health information from someone they can’t see? Why? Because people often want to see if you are in shape or not. Or if you have a healthy appearance period. Like for example if you have clear skin, healthy teeth, clear eyes and so on. Why? Because who are we to talk if we can’t back up our tips or information. I always try to be able to back up my info. Lol! Am I talking too much? I’m sorry! 😜

No! that is a great example! it goes the same way for me, if I don’t look in shape, people more than likely will not take me seriously.. ya know? I mean some might but MOST will not.

Hang on, I’m commenting before I read the post… The top nine are “ride a road bike” and number ten is “ride a mountain bike”, right?

Hahaahahah! now that sir would be biased.. more biased than my list indeed. Although I am sure your choices would be much preferred over doing burpees.
I wanted to list cardio exercises that weren’t so very obviously, more so creative! lol Biking made the list in the top 100, xD

Your intention showed through in the post. Sadly (or awesomely, if you’re me) I’ve become something like Pavlov’s pooches when it comes to cycling. I merely have to see the word cardio and my legs start the pedaling motion. It’s amazing, really. 😁

No worries, I had a runner mention how “running wasn’t on the list”, lol. Funny how the both of you react to your cardio not being on the list – it makes me laugh. Oh goodness, you need to show this experiment on YouTube, I summon you.. lol. When someone says cardio to me, I merely make tears appear.. pouring down my face and a frown.

Everybody knows that burpees are from Satan.

Hahhaa I thought you would say you love them 🙂 somehow burpees made it number 1 on the list.

Have I told you my theory about fitness trainers? They have a secret mission to get us doing exercises that make us look ridiculous. Example: burpees.

Burpees make you look cool! lol you get to do multiple movements in one exercise. Not everyone can do that! lol

Today, I woke up not liking myself this morning so at the gym I did three sets of the worst exercise on your list.

You did! Yay! how did it go? 🙂 Did you enjoy it? did anyone happen to do them with you!

I was all alone. It was the worst exercise so it’s hard to enjoy it. Through the tears, I just kept saying, “Do it for Shay-lon, do it for Shay-lon.”

Awhh! I am so happy you made it through with the thought of me on your mind! I am sure at some point you felt really good about the exercise and was debating on doing another set, but you don’t have to admit it to me ;P

I love doing circuits, I find there a great way to mix light weights and cardio. Especially when adding pylos to the circuit

I love doing circuits too! it takes away from the repetitive nature of the treadmill or bike. Let me tell you about Plyos, those exercises are no joke, lol
