365 Days of Self Discovery: Health & Well-Being

Day 17

Do you have a healthy diet? What changes could you make?

  • I believe my diet is relatively healthy, during the week I cook and pack my lunch for work each night. I typically have a vegetable and a meat for dinner and recently I have added in a few carbs with my meal or have had a carb or two at work during break. I take a few different supplements – just to make sure I am getting enough nutrients in my body if not through the foods I am eating. On the weekends, I tend to let loose and don’t follow a “diet” plan or anything, normally it is pizza or take out unless I am with friends or family at a social gathering where we go to a sit down restaurant. Due to the fact that I want to do well at my powerlifting meets and want to see fat loss with mass/strength increases, I would like to become strict in writing down when and what I eat ( I have the app MyfitnessPal but sometimes I forget I have it and don’t log) and I would like to get in the habit of measuring the food I eat at home with my food scale so that I am eating enough but not overeating, and most definitely would like to cook more on the weekends when I am not with friends or family so I can stick to a clean diet without processed foods hindering my goals. Right now, I have decided to do this intermittent fasting to give it a go and see what will come of it, but I struggle with it — so my goal is to get to the point where it comes second nature to me and I stay on it for at least 3 months to view my results and decide if it is right for me and my body. I have a lot of my plate during the week so I need to dedicate some time to write out goals and stick with them. Also, I want to follow my macros more closely.

You can assume I have a love for fitness & a love for Wonderwoman -- both assumptions are correct. I am an ACSM certified personal trainer of 8+ years -- I currently reside in Ohio and live a simplistic life at the age of 29. If I am not lifting, I am eating, sleeping, traveling, exploring, or movie watching. I recently moved during a pandemic, now I am focused on self care (self love), building a business of my own in personal training, becoming a professional blogger, starting a podcast and doing things that make me happy! I am a sister, daughter, and loyal friend --- I love everyone's dog and I am on a mission to pet as many dogs as possible everywhere I go! LOL. My mission is to talk health (physical/mental), design programming, motivational speak, learn, grow, prosper, build others and make as many people smile as possible because I want nothing more than to be the change I seek in the world.
