What are your strengths?

Almost feels like an interview question, but it’s an important question and one that should be open and honest because we can’t be good at everything but some of us are rather good at most things compared to others. I am going to list my strengths in bullet form, and might elaborate on some of them to give a better, deeper understanding of why it is a strength of mine.

  • The ability to multitask and do things under pressure if need be
  • Timely- punctual
  • organization & planning
  • attention to detail
  • teammate
  • communicating feedback if need be – now this doesn’t mean I am good at communication overall, because I lack in some areas of communication because of my social anxiety BUT for the most part if someone needs feedback or advice, I am pretty good at giving that
  • very patient
  • dedicated
  • disciplined
  • trustworthy and honest
  • respectful
  • determined
  • ambitious
  • focused – I pretty much feel this way in a work setting, whatever it may be, when I have something that needs done, it is done because I make it my main focus
  • leadership
  • orderly
  • visionary
  • independent
  • love of learning
  • perservence
  • precise
  • problem solving skills
  • good willpower
  • inspirational
  • fair- I like being equal among others
  • charming
  • personable
  • compassionate
  • educated/knowledgeable

This list pretty much summed it up all in one, and some of them aren’t 100 percent perfect but I would still say that the list was from both my habits at work and around friends/family and when I am alone — I had to consider all things in order to conjure up this list, now it is your turn. I want to see a list of your strengths, share them with me and my readers, it doesn’t have to be long, but maybe it is much longer than mine. To know your strengths, means to know your weaknesses. Don’t forget to follow, like, comment and share 🙂

The preacher curl

The preacher curl, an exercise I don’t do often but one that I should do because it is a great bicep exercise workout, especially if you are really looking to isolate the muscle. My gym offers a space to do the curl like in the video above ( I assume most gyms do) but if not, there are ways to get it done with a little bit of creativity. I tend to biceps on my upper body day as an accessory workout with my bench press & used as a form of supersets (which this exercise would be good for). Typically when doing the preacher curl you want to be sure to be slow and contracted. Watch the above video for a demonstration.

How to (step by step)

  1. You will need an EZ bar — Like the above bar in the video. You will have your hand placement on the close inner bar handle (best to have someone hand it to you, but if not, use the front bar rest attached to the preacher bench) Palms forward and slightly tilted inwards
  2. chest against the preacher bench, and arms pressed against the preacher bench– hold the EZ curl bar at shoulder length.
  3. While breathing in, slowly lower the bar until biceps are fully stretched
  4. While exhaling, use your biceps to curl the weight until biceps are fully contracted.

The preacher curl is what helps to build the ‘peak’ in your biceps, it works the shorter head of the bicep muscle. Again a great exercise if executed properly and with slow contracted movements; making sure to squeeze on your way up & fully stretch on the way down & pay attention to make sure you are breathing.

Which fictional character would you most like to be?

  • I had to think hard about this one because it isn’t an everyday question that other people ask. I personally think it would be awesome to be Wonderwoman or perhaps a Disney character that has a happy after ever after ending. For sure I would want to be a ‘good guy’ character and someone that’s either making my audience smile or a character people think is a badass.

What fictional character would you choose? Are there any that you identify with? leave your answers in the comments, and don’t forget to like, share, and follow!

What life lessons have books taught you?

  • Recently I have picked up reading again, all of them being used for “self help” and spirituality. I started them either based on recommendations from peers or for clarity after enduring something that caused me grief/sadness & needing to find ways to cope, and pick myself back up again. All of these books thus far have taught me to be kind to myself – there is a light at the end of every tunnel, no matter how dark it gets. The books that I have read with characters, plots, and mystery were used as amusement and an escape from my mind/ a way to get out of my own head.

I know I have many people who follow my blog that read almost daily, and this would be an awesome question for you folks to answer since you have probably read way more books than myself. I would love to hear some answers and the kind of genre of book it was that taught you the lesson(s).
