Phase Two: Week Four, Day 22|Six weeks to shreds

Warm Up:

 
  • 2-3 minute bench step up w/ knee raise

Workout: 

  • Barbell bench press (medium grip): 4 x 9-11. 75 lb (1 minute bench step ups between each set)
  • Incline DB press: 3 x 9-11. 60 lb. (1 minute DB clean – 20 lb between each set)
  • Decline DB bench press: 3 x 9-11. 75 lb (1 minute running in place between each set)
  • Dips: 4 x 9-11. ( 1 minute kettlebell swing- 8kg between each set)
  • Barbell bench press (close grip): 4 x 9-11. 70 lb ( 1 minute smith power clean – 75 lb between each set)
  • smith machine hip raise: 3 x 9-11. 115 lb ( 1 minute bench step ups between each set)
  • hanging leg raise: 3 x 9-11 (1 minute quick step ups between each set)

Now if any of you remember, the very first day of week ONE, I did some of these exact same exercises besides 2 of them for the same amount of reps and sets. Summer “Would You Rather” Tag

I would like to thank my dear friend PoojaG for choosing to nominate me for this tag, also my first time participating. I love summer, so this sounded like a neat idea. Also, if you have not already, check out her blog, she just recently hit 3,000 followers on her blog so go wish her a congrats! 

Live in a tree house or a castle?

Part of me says a tree house because I do enjoy nature, but part of me says a castle because it would be a fun experience and offer some good history. That is a toss up, but if the tree house was really cool and built nicely & the weather was always sunny, I would probably choose a tree house. 

Be able to sing beautifully or dance beautifully?

Definitely sing beautifully, because I already dance fairly well. lol.

Ride a horse or a camel?

A horse. Although a camel would be a fun new experience.

Know a fairy or a unicorn?

A Fairy.

Have a backyard that was a huge bounce house or a huge ball pit?

Huge ball pit, I always did like those when I went to Chuck ee cheese

Travel or stay home?

Travel.

Be able to fly or be able to breathe under water?

Fly.

Know where you’re going or have it be a surprise?

Know where I am going .. not all surprises are good ones.

Be on a boat or on an airplane?

I have never been on a plane and i might have been on a boat once but don’t remember, so it would be awesome to be on either one! 

Be able to see in the dark or be able to never get tired?

Be able to see in the dark, that would be interesting

Go on a vacation to the beach or to the mountains?

Since I have never been to a beach, a beach would be my choice. I live in Colorado so I know what the mountains are like 😀

Have picnics in the forest or in the park?

Hm. I have had them at a park before and enjoyed it but wouldn’t mind giving a forest a try just to see what it would be like.

Swim in the ocean or swim in a pool?

I have never been swimming in an ocean but I feel like it would heighten my anxiety unless I could see through the water clearly. I will say pool just to be safe! lol 😀 but want the opportunity to swim in the ocean.

Be a dolphin or a cheetah?

Cheetah, it is my favorite animal 🙂

Be able to make people laugh or be able to make people trust you?

I am already pretty comical and people normally always laugh around me, so I would say trust me.

Be surprised by a present or be able to pick what you get?

Be surprised, I am a simple gal, anything someone gets me is usually sweet and very awesome – it is the thought that counts. 

Eat popsicles or watermelon?

Popsicles.

Go camping or stay in a hotel?

I have stayed in some really nice hotels, and haven’t been camping in a long time, so camping it is. 

Do art or read?

I suck at art, so read!

Experience an epic waterslide or an epic zip line?

Oh this is a hard one because I would love either one, I love thrills like this.

Paranoid Schizophrenia (Mental Health Post)

Mental health is just as important as physical health, if not more important. 

 

Hello bloggers, as scheduled today would be mental health awareness by discussing a mental health condition. I chose this particular one because I don’t know anyone who has been diagnosed with it close to me and I didn’t know very much about it to be able to discuss so I had fun being able to research it and gain some understanding. I did happen to know some basics but enough to be able to write about it, so I post some links for this one to sites I used briefly or that I sited so that you can also read up on it, if it something of interest to you. 

 

What is Paranoid Schizophrenia?

 
  • When your mind doesn’t agree with reality – this is the way I understand it and the easiest way of explaining it so others can understand & the same way this site put it.
  • A lifelong illness
  • Affects how you think and behave

Symptoms:

  • Auditory disturbances
  • unexplained anger
  • emotional disconnectedness
  • sever anxiety and agitation
  • argumentive behavior
  • sometimes violent tendencies
  • Delusions of grandeur
  • frequent suicidal thoughts and behavior

Now there are other symptoms that people with schizophrenia may have that are not listed, so make sure to do your research and get a full understanding because each person handles this differently. 

 

Risk Factors:

Most studies say there is no ONE cause of this illness BUT there are some risk factors that can higher your chances: 

  1. Family history of psychotic disorders
  2. exposure to a viral infection in the womb
  3. fetal malnutrition
  4. stress in early childhood
  5. sexual or physical abuse
  6. older parental age
  7. Use of psychoactive drugs during adolescence 

Treatment:

  • THERE IS NO CURE AT THIS TIME FOR THIS ILLNESS!!!!
  • medications
  • psychotherapy
  • hospitalization
  • ECT (Electroconvulsive therapy)
  • training for social skills and development

Now with this being said, these are methods but they depend on the situation and circumstance, not everyone will agree to take medications or undergo therapies and that is their choice. I know many of them take more than one kind of medication and sometimes more than 2 or 3 depending on their situation and symptoms and the severity. The fact there is no cure for it is disheartening because this is something someone will have to deal with for the rest of their lives & I don’t think it would be easy or easy to explain to others who don’t have it and this is why I do these post so that hopefully it sheds light and brings awareness to the issue at hand. I personally have always believed that mental illness goes unnoticed because people don’t understand and believe them to be omens or ignore them in order to pretend it doesn’t exist (ignorance).  I like to think we are growing and learning and accepting people who may be different than ourselves BUT at the same time there are still people who look down on those with any type of mental illness. I believe in order to help people with their illnesses we have to be open minded and forgiving because it is not always that individuals fault that they have it. So with that being said..
