What is your favorite song? What does it mean to you?

Honestly, I love music, It matches my mood when I listen to a certain song. Depending on how I feel, will depend on what I listen to, I don’t think I have one favorite song, but I do have favorites that I listen to more than others or that have significance to my life in some way. I’ll keep the list somewhat short because it’s constantly growing & hopefully some of you will share some of the same likes for the songs listed.

I do listen to rap and hip hop as well, but most of the songs don’t hold meaning to me, which is why I didn’t list any of them, they are usually to get me pumped up, dance to, or have a good time to. There are a few love songs that I like listening to as well that I didn’t list because they are for more intimate settings, lol. Most of the time, I enjoy songs that can help me to get my thoughts and emotions out & obviously if I can relate to it, like the beat and chorus, etc. Many things go into me liking a song, so the ones on the list I probably have listened to more than 100 times each and enjoy but as I have mentioned before, there are more songs that I haven’t listed that I enjoy as well.

Tried my bench press max

Today I wanted to try my max 125 lbs to make sure it was still the max, and I didn’t lose strength, and thankfully I did it! now I obviously want to increase it, but I needed to make sure I was still capable of lifting this weight. Bench is my weakest of the three lifts, always has been, so I would especially hate starting over with it. 

Warm up:

  • Resistance band reverse fly: 4 x 25, green
  • Resistance band chest press: 4 x 25, green
  • resistance band triceps kickback: 4 x 25, green

Workout:

  • Barbell bench press: 3 x 1-2, 120 lbs
  • Barbell bench press: 1 x 1, 125 lbs

Tri-sets:

  • DB chest press: 3 x 6-8, 90 lbs
  • Cable triceps kickback: 3 x 6-8 each arm, 30 lbs
  • DB reverse fly: 3 x 6-8, 40 lbs

For some reason I felt sickly, like I wanted to vomit, so I only did 2 sets of each instead of 3. 

Tri-sets:

  • kettlebell alternating shoulder press: 3 x 6-8, 8kg
  • DB incline reverse fly: 3 x 6-8, 30 lbs
  • Medicine ball overhead triceps extension: 3 x 6-8, 10 lbs

I started in on my cardio workout but I was so tired that I fell asleep on the stationary bike within 8 minutes of starting, so I decided to call it quits. I couldn’t function being that tired.

Do you worry too much? How can you deal with this?

In the previous post I mentioned how I worry quite a bit about different things and it stems from anxiety & brings about anxiety or a sense of feeling overwhelmed. I do believe I worry too much, and I don’t particular enjoy it. As of now, I have been taking part in meditation, but also, reading a good books has helped & music helps to get my thoughts out/ at the same time doesn’t quiet my brain when I am worried (so its a positive and negative) but for sure meditation & reading a book has been helpful, allows me to escape for a while and focus on being more at peace and calmness. I also believe my fear of losing routine or not finishing everything I planned for the day causes to me worry because then I have to think about when I can play catch up, so I don’t get too far behind. It’s a cycle, I am trying to teach myself that it is okay to go off the beaten path sometimes, and that we can only do what we can do, and not worry about what doesn’t get finished, because it will at some point.

Was making sure to do 70% and 75% my max today for deadlift and back squat

Tri-sets:

  • EZ bar stiffed legged deadlift: 3 x 10, 40 lbs

Cardio:

  • Stair stepper: 10 minutes, level 7
  • Stationary bike: 10 minutes, resistance level 6, and rpm 70+

At the gym, I make myself a shake because I am off work at 8pm and have to have to work at 10pm at the second job, so it’s easier to make myself a shake on days I work both jobs. This is not normally the shake i make for myself due to the macros being super high, but I wanted something different. Our gym makes protein shakes. 

Total Calories: 1941, pending how many calories I worked off at the gym.

Total Carbs: 278.1g (over)

Total Fats: 59.6g (over)

Total Protein: 88.2g (under goal)

My workout yesterday I would have considered light activity (I did lifting and 20 min of cardio) but I don’t think I burned very many calories; although I could be wrong & with all of this said, the light activity macro goal was:

Calories: 1876

Carbs: 220g

Fats: 52g

Protein: 132g
